STATE OF EMERGENCY – A GRINDHOUSE FEATURE

Concept

Grindhouse was originally 2007 double feature film from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez (played back-to-back with spoof trailers cut in between). This film is a throwback to horror and exploitation films of the 1970’s and early 80’s. They feature obscene sense of violence and sexuality (while also being very over the top). The film itself was not a financial success (but has since developed a cult and has spawned two films based off of some of the trailers). What if they the two directors were to continue on this tradition? Here is a logical step into that direction (featuring the same actors, director, and everything else that makes these films unique).

Design

The overall design tries to emulate the look and feel of the previous four films. The music, the actors, and even the narrator are all the same. It is MEANT TO LOOK AWEFUL (and that is the appeal). Heavy photoshop was used in producing the photos. Most are taken from previous Grindhouse films (Planet Terror and Machete). Others are stock. As for timing, it runs 71 seconds (most straight to DVD trailers run this long).
